Summit of the Americas: Presidents and Heads of Government attend plenary session today

The presidents and heads of state attending the VIII Summit of the Americas will participate today in the plenary session, the most important event of the Summit.

According to the official agenda, the plenary session will be held from 8.45 am to 1.15 pm at the Lima Convention Center.

From 8:00 am onwards, the President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra, will receive the heads of State and Government at the Lima Convention Center.

The presidents and heads of state attending the Summit will take the official photo of the meeting  between 8.30 and 8.45 am.

Between 12.00 and 12.30, a report on: Latin American Economic Outlook 2018: Rethinking Institutions for Development will  be presented within the framework of the Summit of the Americas.

The recommendations of social actors will also be presented by representatives of the Civil Society Forum, the Youth Forum, the Business Dialogue and the Forum of the Indigenous Peoples.

Later, between 1.40 and 4.30 pm, lunch and a private dialogue will take place between the dignitaries participating in the Summit of the Americas, at the Lima Convention Center.

Finally, between 4.30 and 5.00 pm, is the closing session of the VIII Summit of the Americas, with the assistance of the participating delegations; followed by a press conference at 5.30 p.m.

The VIII Summit of the Americas, which brings together Heads of State and Government from the region, has as its main topic of discussion Democratic Governance against Corruption.
